Who We Are, What We Believe, and What To Expect

WHO WE Are

We are committed to loving and serving each other as a family and to reaching out to the people of our community and beyond with love, acceptance, and forgiveness; to bring hope to the hopeless and help for the hurting. We are here to touch hearts with kindness and encouragement; to change lives with Truth and compassion, and to impact people by seeing the impossible made possible through God's power.

People matter to the WC because they matter to God. God truly desires the very best for you and your life and that can begin right now through a relationship with Him. Whoever you are, wherever you’ve been… at the WC you are welcome!

What we believe

The Worship Center is a gathering of ordinary people who seek to know God and make God known. We believe that as we begin to understand who God is and follow Him, He will transform our lives and the lives of those around us. This transformation process is the result of experiencing an interactive relationship with God, developing transparent connections with other Christ followers, and using our talents, gifts, experiences and resources to make a glocal (global+local) impact.

What To expect

Visiting a church can be a frightening thing. You may feel like people are watching you or maybe that people will judge you. “Will the preacher condemn me from the stage?” “Will they point me out?” “Will they judge me if I look differently than they do?”

A few tips to help you when you visit the WC:

  • Feel free to come casual or dressy. We have no dress code – whatever makes you comfortable is great with us.
  • Sit anywhere you like, there are no assigned seats.
  • Beware of friendly people – someone WILL welcome you.
  • We are not after your money! Guests are encouraged to enjoy the visit with NO obligation to give.
  • Relax. You don’t have to pretend your life is perfectly in order. You’ll find a place where you can be yourself and… no one will point you out.

Our gatherings include a high-energy time of worship and a message that communicates biblical truth in a relevant and meaningful way. We’re probably not your mama’s church experience.

  • It’s loud.
  • It’s casual.
  • It’s high energy.
  • It’s authentic.
  • It’s truth filled and Christ centered.

What About my kids?

You are welcome to keep your children in the service with you or you may check them in with our Kids Connect Ministries.

Kids Connect is an experience just for kids (birth thru 6th grade). 0-2yr olds can be checked into our Kids Connect nursery at anytime. 3-12yr olds may be checked in, in the back of the sanctuary and stay in the worship experience through the singing portion of the service. Then the children and their teachers are dismissed to our Activities Center across from our main building where they may be picked up after the adult service is over. It’s not just a babysitting situation. It’s a time of teaching from God’s word through material that is relevant and age-appropriate for the kids.

We are excited to be moving the children into the main building in 2016!

Pastors

Corey Berti

SENIOR PASTOR

Corey was born and raised in the Silver Valley. After attending college at the University of Idaho, he married his lovely wife Stacy and they have raised two beautiful daughters. Corey worked in sales, finance, and management at the world’s largest Dodge dealership before venturing out into his own business. It was 2 years later that he was asked to pastor the Worship Center, the church he had attended and served in for 7 years. Through much prayer and wise counsel, Corey accepted the position of senior pastor in 2005.

Along with pastoring, Corey and Stacy also own and operate the Jolt N’ Bolt espresso stand in Kellogg. Corey loves to spend time with his family, enjoys leisurely drives up the North Fork river, helping coach local high school wrestling, drinking good coffee and watching football.

Corey’s heart is to see a community of Christ followers who are sold out to impacting and transforming the Silver Valley with the power of God’s love.

BILL howard

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Bill was born in Spokane and raised in Coeur d' Alene. He graduated from CDA High School and N.I.C. respectively. Bill married Mia in 1979. Together they raised two daughters and now are blessed with seven grandchildren. Bill and Mia moved to Kingston in 1999.

Bill's work experience includes motorcycle mechanic, bicycle technician, and cabinetmaker. He owned and operated his own custom cabinet shop for 10 years, until he was called into full time ministry. He joined our pastoral staff, as associate pastor at the Worship Center, in 2014.

Bill and Mia enjoy ATVing, bicyling, walking, reading, and family time.

Bill's passion is to see the valley transformed through the Power of God at work in people's lives and hearts.
